Sashi Grayndler – Childrens and Families Worker

GrayndlersClimbing down from the corporate ladder in 2001 was one of the best decisions Sashi ever made in response to a challenge to consider full time ministry. She completed a Diploma of Theology at Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) while leading the Children’s Ministry Team at Summer Hill Community Church, then dove into the deep end by becoming a missionary in SE Asia. Sashi is especially passionate about cross-cultural ministry, coming out of a Hindu background but would happily talk about Jesus to anyone who cares to listen.

Having returned in 2012 to begin studying a Bachelor of Theology at SMBC, she then plunged back into the coal face by taking up the role of Children’s and Families Worker at Eagle Vale in 2014.

Sashi is keen to help children learn about the wonderful relationship with God they can have because of Jesus, how to follow Him faithfully and how to share Jesus’s gift with their friends. It also helps that she loves drama, singing kids’ songs and craft. Sashi teaches and co-ordinates  Scripture at three local primary schools ( and loves that her husband Andy teaches a few classes on Tuesdays too!), leads the kids’ club team and plans the annual Family Play Arvo event.

In the leisure time, they enjoy finding vintage items at the local op shops while exploring Sydney’s south south-west and extending hospitality in their home.
